Below is a list of resources appropriate for any grade that will allow students to explore their musicality and creativity from home!
This site has over 50 different websites organized by category from Musical Instruments to Composers to Composing to learning more about Musical Notation and Musical Symbols- a GEM!:

- Chrome Music Lab (12 different musical games and experiments allowing students to explore pitch, melody, rhythm, frequency, "drawing" sound, and many other creative things! Since it's created by Google, it also offers you the open source code, for all you coders out there -- you can actually change the functions of the games with code!)
- www.incredibox.com (allows students to create multi-layer pieces by dragging and dropping a variety of sounds on different "dudes")
- http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/schools/4_11/music/mm/index.shtml (a musical mystery adventure! Kids will help the 2 main characters on their journey as they practice rhythm, steady beat, and other musical concepts (recommended for grades K-2)
- http://www.musictechteacher.com/music_quizzes/music_quizzes.htm (quizzes, worksheets, and games appropriate for varying experience and knowledge levels)
- www.noteflight.com (you register online to use; allows students to create complex compositions using free notation software- recommended for grades 4 and 5 (and up!) )
- http://tonematrix.audiotool.com/ (introduced to me by a student! Kids can create compositions by using a grid matrix...just by clicking on different squares!- recommended for grades 4 and 5 (and up!) )
- http://pbskids.org/chuck/video_jazz.html (students can explore a variety of musical genres (blues, salsa, reggae, classical, hip hop) though videos, games, and interactive play)
- http://www.classicsforkids.com/games/ (houses one of my favorite composition technology resources for kids- allows them to drag and drops note values to different lines and spaces to create (and play back) their own music!
